What’s not to like about this beach?… ok, it’s pebbles so you need sea shoes & a good roll mat to lie on, but every thing about this place is just perfect. The natives are friendly, there is a cafe at the bottom of the Steamer Steps ( your access point), plenty of topless sunbathing for the first 200 meters then it’s as naked as you wish to be. A great place for single women too, plenty of locals use this place so there is a great community spirit! As previously mentioned there is a gay element that frequents the far western end and apparently inappropriate behaviour occurs thee, but stick to the eastern end & you will enjoy a great day’s naturist activity. It’s one of the few U.K. beaches that my wife is happy to be on her own.

I live very close to Budleigh so lucky enough to use it a lot, its fairly easy to get to if your able bodied as its a few steps to get down on to the beach via steamer steps and then a fairly short walk along to the naturist section, officially the naturist section starts 450 metres from the bottom of the steps, but you usually see naturists from about 100 metres if that sometimes.
Definitely bring a good roll mat you'll thank me for that.
At the very far end of the beach unfortunately a few blokes tend to go for non naturist activities, feel very free to hurl obscenities at them or maybe a pebble or two, I do as they spoil this beach.
It's a great place to swim too it shelves off quite fast but as the water comes over the pebbles it's warms the water a bit by the shore which makes it lovely.
If you fancy fishing as well, it can be pretty good off the beach for mackerel and if your lucky, the odd bass.
It can get very warm on this beach and easily a few degrees warmer than what is forecast as the heat radiates off the cliffs and pebbles, I've used this beach in the winter months and can be plenty warm enough even then to strip off.
I have a lot of love for this beach, and hope you will too.
