Opinions and experiences of visitors with Sungrove Club

We are also curious about your experiences with Sungrove Club. Please let us know!
Sept 2023 - we are a same sex male couple and have been made entirely welcome by everyone at the Sungrove site.
Please ignore previous reviews to the contrary.
The people have been warm, and conversation has been easy. The pool is lovely and warm as heated by solar panels. The facilities are very clean and everyone contributes and cooperates.
There is a lovely spirit to this site.
We had time alone to relax but should we wish to interact with members there was always someone with a smile to talk to.
We only have positive things to say and will definitely return and recommend to others. It really has felt inclusive - everyone has been so kind.

What a gem, tucked away in Lincolnshire. Its friendly members warmly welcome you and are rightly proud of their club. The grounds are immaculate and the clubhouse, showers and toilets are spotless. There is a covered pool with terrace, a sauna and a large central grass area with a mini ten court to keep you active (if you want to ????).
There is now EHU to each pitch which although only 2amp was enough for my needs. The well compacted grass pitches are on slightly sloping ground so chocks will probably be needed.
Will I return? Oh yes, without a shadow of a doubt ????

I stayed for one night in a small solo tent, meeting up with a few friends to attend a local naturist event. I really enjoyed my stay and will definately be back for a longer visit. I felt very welcomed by the owners and other members who were all super happy to help. The club house is spacious and lively of an evening. The pool, showers and toilets were so clean I was almost scared to use them! The whole site is really well maintained and beautiful. Thank you.

A couple of friends and I planned to visit Sungrove Club for an overnight tent camp. Unfortunately the weather forecast didn't look too promising and two of our party dropped out. However, I decided to go anyway, as I don't let things like the weather bother me. I am so glad I did! I was made very welcome by everyone who was there. I was shown round the very well kept site which is maintained by its members. The pitches are grass and level. There is a lovely swimming pool which is now covered with a metal framed polycarbonate structure. The water temperature is maintained by solar energy and is very comfortable. There are ample sun loungers and patio chairs to use. There is also a sauna but it is not used much apparently. The toilet/shower block is always kept very clean and it has disabled facilities.
The club house is well furnished and has cooking facilities, fridge, freezer etc. There is a barbeque which is used on a Saturday evening on which a variety of meat is cooked, which I enjoyed during my visit. The members organise various outdoor games to partake in which is fun and also quizzes etc.
I just found everything about Sungrove great. It is a family oriented club and there was a myth that single people weren't welcome. I can honestly quosh that myth by my own experience. Family Naturist Clubs in general need to be cautious, as there are many (mainly single males) who are in naturism for the wrong reasons. Some basic questions are asked in order to establish your background and experience in naturism. I find this acceptable in order to keep the club a safe environment especially for young families. I made some good friends in the two days I was there and I have been invited back, which I am looking forward to already. I recommend Sungrove Club as the perfect place to relax and enjoy the company.

First discovered the club in 2020 having been forced to curtail our Naturist trips abroad due to Covid. What a find it is! My hubby has Parkinson's and it has been a real treat to find somewhere that doesn't judge and actually helps me and hubby to relax and enjoy the environment.

Since finding Sungrove, we have joined and have actively participated in helping bring the clubs technology into the 21st century. Sungrove Club now boast wifi (in some areas) and can accept card payments too, both big steps forward in meeting the needs of today's travelers.

The site is a member run club, very friendly and inclusive and beautifully maintained. The grounds, and the indoor heated swimming pool, are absolutely stunning and a credit to the members. Wish I could show you some pictures of the place, it really is lovely.

The site is quiet and does not offer evening music or have a licenced bar but that doesn't stop the members and visitors from enjoying a bring your own drink when the mood allows. Visitors are always welcome to join the members at the BBQ or Sunday afternoon tea and cakes and to get involved with any games that may be taking place. These can include lawn darts, boules, miniten and others I may have forgotten to mention.

They don’t like single males at the club where that’s is against the law and could be prosecuted for it

I've just returned from a solo camp at this site. I am a male who's married and my wife was visiting family so couldn't attend with me so camped alone for the 1st time ever! All I can say is I had a fantastic time here. I spoke with some very lovely people (especially Deirdre) who really made me feel welcome. I am a bit of an introvert so kind of kept myself to myself by reading, colouring, doing yoga and eating alone but wished I had made more of an effort to attend the club house to speak to more people as a group so that is something for me to work on next time I visit. The site is very clean, well kept and secure. I have a 4 man air tent and had a choice of 4 spots where it would of fit but picked a perfect spot to capture the warmth of the evening sun as it set over site. The pool is so nice. It's under a glass cover and solar heated so was the perfect temperature to blast out a quick 500m swim. For safety reasons you can't swim alone so Id really like to thank Phillip who took time out of his day on my 1st and 2nd day to play lifeguard so I could enjoy the facility as well as show me how to operate the pool cover for my next stay.
I spent this morning on the sun deck where I was able to roll out my yoga mat for a morning yoga session as the sun rose. The area in the centre of the site (where there is a miniten court) was perfect for a barefoot run circuit. I think it was 12 laps to clock a mile on my Fitbit. It is clear the members work very hard to maintain this site and every where was clean and tidy with lots of gardening going on. I really felt at peace here and was grateful they allowed me to camp as a solo male for single night (which is more than can be said for another site I contacted who made it clear they didn't want me).
As a whole, naturism struggles to attract a younger crowd. However, after a discussion with a member, this site would love to see a younger generation of naturists visiting to take over the mantle of running the club so please, if you are 46 (my age) or under, take the time to contact the club and visit. I can't wait to visit again and will be bringing my wife with me to meet those I met. The only disappointment for me was that the sauna doesn't seem to get used as I would certainly of utilised this if it was on. Other than that, I feel nice and refreshed after getting back to nature and being active in nature. Do your mind and body a favour and go and visit this site.

I tried to book to go last year they wanted two forms of I.D no problem then he went on to say they’d had problems with a single male there and basically accused me of just wanting to go to perv over the woman… I was highly offended I’ve been a naturist for years (20plus) stayed at euronat for 2wks been to lakeside and bolding way several times, studland sun club, broadlands, also a regular at my local swim, I ended up going to a rosebay (gay/bi) just so I could relax for the record I’m straight and wasn’t treated with any prejudice by the guys at rosebay and had a very peaceful stay as for sun grove they can stick there site disgusted with the way I was treated and spoken to, when I get a lady to take camping it won’t be to sun grove EVER

We stayed at Sungrove whilst visiting family in the area. Booking was easy through the secretary who greeted us with a welcoming cup of coffee (socially distanced). She showed us the facilities available fo use (cooker/freezer/microwave/fridge etc)We were immediately struck with the cleanliness of the Club and the ample sanitising facilities everywhere. The 2 amp electricity available was ample for running our fridge. The leisure facilities include miniten, petanque, and other garden games and attractive sunbathing lawns. There is a solar heated swimming pool on a recently installed enclosure thus extending the use of the pool. An attractive patio area is in front of the pool. There is another patio in front of the clubhouse. Toilets and showers are available with a toilet more easily accessible for the less able. They are all kept in a pristine state. There is camping for caravans/campervans/tents.
We watched rabbits every morning and evening. The nearby village of Waltham has a variety of shops/restaurants/cafes etc. The lincolnshire Wolds are nearby, also the seaside resort of Cleethorpes and port of Grimsby with it's fishing museum. A very enjoyable stay.

Unfortunately this is not the most friendly naturist club in England.
They don't except people with body piercings and even though they say they except singles, they don't.
There singles are original members who have lost their partners.
They don't allow same sex couples. In 2021 this is something that should not happen at any club with all the discrimination laws in place.
They don't have a designated area for tents.
The carparking area is small.
There is no bar so it's a take your own club and make your own entertainment in the small club house. They never have any night time events on.
The miniten court and boules court need attention.
The entery to the shower block is stepped and the showers have a step, which makes them dangerous to anyone with mobility issues. They do have an accessible toilet with a sink.
The access to the pool is not suitable if you have mobility issues.
They do coffee and cake time for a small fee in a morning and afternoon. It feels like you have to get involved with this, whether you want to or not. Some members get funny if you decide to not be involved with it.
If you decide to become a member you will find that your every move is watched and you will start to feel uncomfortable as members spy on you. You won't be allowed to stay over night if there is not a full member on site. This will last for the first year of your membership. If you can stand been treated like a naughty school child that long.
The sauna is never used.
One member has a mirror which is sighted so they can see every static caravan from their property. Not the type of thing you would expect at a naturist club.
Committee members talk about visitors and can be heard saying they don't want that sort of person as a member. It usually involves a single male or a someone with piercings who are visiting with a view to be coming a member.
The club itself is out dated compared to other clubs. It needs a lot of money spending to bring it up to the standard expected now a days.

Sun grove was the very first Naturist site that we visited way back in 1984, three weeks later we were members enjoying the “Garden of Eden” for the next six years and only 12 miles from home which was Caistor at that time. Over that time the club was a hive of activity with lots of children all having great fun, our two sons Mike and Ian loved the mini ten courts and playing table tennis. Work took us away from Lincolnshire and we have ended up as members of Blackthorns NC for the past twenty three years, where ever we go we tell naturists about Sungrove to help boost membership and visitors as we all know clubs have had a difficult time of recent years. Sungrove may be small but it packs a punch, the only way to find out is to visit ???????? ????????

Went here as a single visitor this Sunday, not the greatest day weather wise so it was a bit quiet but everyone there was so nice and welcoming and made my first naturist club visit a pleasure and I can't wait to go again. The site was very well kept and looks like there are plenty of activities planned for members and visitors throughout the summer. Definite thumbs up from me.

The site was recommended by some friends we met at another club. You approach the club down a beautiful tree lined lane which has recently been completely resurfaced and is lovely and smooth for bringing in your caravan. When you arrive at the lovely rustic wooden gates, the bell push button is clear to see and we were welcomed in by a lovely friendly couple who guided us to our pitch for the weekend. The site is absolutely immaculate and the people were all lovely and friendly, we were shown around the lovely solar heated pool which was at 27 degrees all weekend. The clubhouse is cosy and functional with two microwaves, a full size cooker and washing up facilities, comfy seating was all around where you could usually find some members chatting and having a cuppa. We will definitely be going back later this year, but this time we will have at least a week there.

We had a lovely long weekend, very friendly bunch, no complaints about any one or anything. We where invited to join in with the BBQ and quiz in the club house on the Saturday. Lovely site, very pretty and well kept. The swimming pool although not Olympic size was clean and warm after a few days of sun on the solar panels.
We had our lunch on the Friday off site in Cleethorpes, at a fish & Chip restaurant on the pier just a few miles away and then the afternoon in Louth.
First time we have been to the Lincolnshire Wolds and from the warm welcome it wont be our last

The site is located on a shared driveway with a caravan and camping site and Prospect Farm holiday cottages, not very welcoming on first arrival metal gates with barbed wire, the lady and Gentleman that showed us around are friendly and nice but unfortunately that is the only thing you can say about the site, that is positive.
it does have a small cold swimming pool only heated by the sun the site appears to be clean but the people on site are the most unfriendly we have ever come across especially one large old lady that has a caravan on the left-hand side of the toilet block the thin gentleman that is her partner was polite but unfortunately she was so extremely rude and abusive that she would put anyone off staying at the site she pointed out that she doesn't like people visiting the site as this is a members only club and no one is welcome apart from members she also pointed out that they deliberately bin applications from single people and people of same sex couples in the end we decided not to stay so unfortunate as the location being close to Cleethorpes only 5 miles was ideal

Lovely people full of fun, always smiling. Saturday night BBQ for members and visitors. Heated open air swimming pool, spotlessly clean. plenty of room for our tent and other visitors caravans. Plenty of activities throughout the season, the list on the wall includes boules, bowls, mini golf, archery, lawn darts. These are open to visitors which is nice, we never felt left out. Since last time we were there, they now have electric hook up, just enough for a fridge, T.V. and battery chargers.
Excellent small club for people new to naturism. Not far from Lincolnshire Wolds including Louth, a lovely market town and close to Cleethorpes ideal for a day out with the kids.
We have visited many clubs, If we lived closer, we would make it our home club for sure. Hopefully we will be back before end of this season again.
Thank you for your hospitality.

A very nice little club. would be ideal for first time naturists to start. It is in a beautiful oasis surrounded by woodlands. A garden of eden in rural Lincolnshire. You can go just to unwind and destress in the solitude of nature, swim in the pool or laze about listening to the birds while you read a book. On the otherhand you could join in with the many activities the members organise. The members are welcoming and friendly. new members and visitors can all expect a warm welcome.
